Fundraising Totals -- and We Leave on Sunday!

I had a difficult week, as a potential health issue popped up that threatened to derail our Camino (to say the least).  Turns out I'm fine...I will write more on this tomorrow.

We leave in two days!!  48 hours from now, we'll be on an airplane to London!  From London, we'll take a train to Paris, then another train to Bayonne, then another train to St. Jean Pied de Port.  The train from Paris to Bayonne is an overnight "sleeper" and we will have cots, so hopefully we can get a nice amount of rest before starting our Camino.

Fundraising

I'm happy to report that we have now raised more than $4652 for Global Fund for Women!  That amount includes climb-a-thon and bake sale donations that we are still collecting.  That amount does not include at least one donation that was made in our honor but hasn't yet been added to the sum, and it doesn't include the donations Portsmouth Brewery will make from its Pint Night in late April or May.  When all is said and done, we may only be a few dozen dollars away from our goal of $5000.

We've also raised $4107 for GirlVentures!  That amount includes bake sale and climb-a-thon money that is on its way to the folks at GirlVentures.  Once that money is received, it will show up in our online total.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed!  If you haven't yet donated but would like to, then please take a look here and/or here.

Permethrin

I recently treated our sleeping bags and the outside of our backpacks with permethrin.  Hope that's enough to keep the potential (and literal!) bedbugs away!

I think we're as ready as we're going to be.  There's still snow all over the first leg of our journey, but we don't mind.  We're used to snow.

I'll be back tomorrow -- it will be the last pre-Camino post I'll write from my house!
